Day 224 of 365: Shecky's

Spent the evening with my sister Mandy and friend Cathy at Shecky's- a sort of Girls' Night Out shopping event. On top of all the great vendors (the women you see behind them are checking out some stuff!), there are bags with free samples and free drinks all night! Needless to say, they are actually holding each other up in this photo. Oh, and I swear I can see something poking out of Cathy's bag there... ;)

Day 217 of 365: Sibling love!

Self portrait with my brother Mike and sister Mandy in the parking lot of the restaurant/bar we met at for dinner. We were all a little bit tipsy, but Mandy had especially enjoyed her beers! Luckily Mikey was there and could drive them to the concert they were going to right after dinner. It was a lot of fun to have sibling only time! We haven't done this in a long time. Hopefully we'll have more chances to meet up this autumn.

Day 190 of 365: Flogging Molly

I bought Flogging Molly tickets for Mandy for Christmas and today was the show! I didn't really know much about their music except that it was supposedly "Irish" and "Punk". Well, I have to say, it was a fun show! I liked it even more than I thought I would. This is the lead singer doing a solo acoustic song. I definitely need to get a copy of some of their songs. I hope to go back to another show some day.

Day 169 of 365: Chuck!

Chuck is the organist for the Thrashers. Here he is in action! He also is the church organist at Mandy's friend Cathy's church on Sundays. We've known him for a couple of years now. (I know him through Mandy, of course). He has extra seats in his organ booth that he basically lets anyone sit in, first come first served! He sits right at the center of the middle balcony. I think these are the best seats in the house, to be honest. Last night we watched the 2nd period from this area. Always a blast, especially when he plays the "Let's go Jesus" chant song! (That's the words Mandy and I made up to go along with the "Let's go Thrashers" chant.) We are trying to convince Chuck to play it in church one Sunday!!!

Day 165 of 365: Movie time

Total chick flick, but it was fun! My sister suggested going to the movies this weekend, so we decided to see this one. I enjoyed it. The "Mac guy" was especially good. It's nice to see he has a little more acting ability than just those commercials (which I totally love, though!) We went to dinner afterwards and had some nice sister conversation. Thanks for a fun night, Mandy. :)

*Oh and pardon the glare on the movie poster. There was just no good angle (I tried) and I don't have a polarizer function on my camera.

Day 148 of 365: Twins!

No, you're not seeing double! These are my new salt and pepper shakers! They were a gift from my sister for Christmas. I love them! I'm having a dinner party at my place this weekend.. perhaps I should use them- at least as table decoration.

Day 114 of 365: Sid the Kid

Despite losing to the Pens tonight, it was a fun game. I was in section 120 behind the goalie and had a great view! Here's the golden boy of the Pens at the moment. Hopefully you can appreciate how close I really was! Best part is that there are 3 more games Mandy has tickets to in these seats. Woot!

Day 104 of 365: I met Rachael Ray!!!

This is my sister Mandy meeting her (since the "rule" is for me to take the photo for the blog...) She was so nice! She's really just how she is on tv. She was nice enough to sign two books for me- the new one (of course...) and my Veggie Meals book that was like one of her first cookbooks ever. Yea!!

Mandy screwed up the settings on my camera so the photo of me with her got messed up and my smile looks weird. Seriously. It was on "automatic" and all she had to do was press "click". How did she manage to set it on timer?! :(

Day 67 of 365: Beer Beer Beer!

Can I just say how much I love small towns?? My sister, the UGA fan, had to watch the GA-FL game. Since baby Willow (and her mom!) were sleeping, we decided to hit up the bar across the street from our hotel. I'm not an American football fan, but I am a beer fan! They have Yuengling on tap here (which up until last Monday, has NOT been available in Georgia) and we wanted to take advantage. After our first round of pints, the waitress informed us that it was now happy hour and 32 oz glasses were $2.75!! (Same price as the pints had been, which already was a bargain!) We had a good time and definitely took advantage of happy hour!!! Sadly for my sister, though, GA was smashed something like 42-10??

Oh well. There's always next year, right?

Day 66 of 365: Baby Willow!

I think Aunt Mandy was telling little Willow all about the plans she has to teach her about the fun things in life! Willow was listening intently. In fact, she's got all kinds of fun faces! My favorite is her "oh my goodness!" surprised look. She's such a great baby. Hardly cried yesterday except when she was hungry or needed changing. She just slept and ate and hung out. She wasn't anxious at all being passed around and held by all of us, either. I can't wait to go back and see her today!!

Day 42 of 365: Happy Birthday Mandy!

She looks kind of evil there, but she's really not! She's just a total goofball hamming it up for the camera. It was her 31st birthday today. We purposely posed the candles with the 1 lying down like that just to be funny, I suppose. We went to a place called Fontaines that's known for its raw oysters. Being the veg, I passed on them and went for the fettucine alfredo with broccoli. Oh, and 3 beers. ;) We had a good time. I'm glad I am off tomorrow from work (pre-scheduled doctor's appointment) and could hang out with her and friends on a Tuesday night. I even got to see our mutual friend Nenna from the old Container Store days who I haven't seen in years! Good times... :)

Day 10 of 365- Visit from Mandy!

My sister came over for dinner tonight! :) I had a crap day at work and she came over so I could cook for us! Yeah, she's so sweet and supportive like that. (Especially the part about ME cooking for HER!) Hehe. It was nice to have a visitor however. We caught up on some fun chat, photos, and Men in Trees finale and me on Graham Norton show!!!! Fun fun! :)
