Day 192 of 365: The big city!!

I was downtown for a French teachers' conference and walked a few blocks to lunch. Not only was it such a beautiful day, I got to be outside! In the city! Having a proper lunch like normal people do!!! I passed this church along the way. I only wish I could work in a city all the time. School can feel like prison sometimes when I don't even get to leave my classroom most of the day. I had a great time!!! Refreshing change of pace to be sure. :)

Day 92 of 365: SIGNS

About the only time I ever go to our local art museum (the High Museum of Art) is when we have exhibits. They do get pretty good ones here (we've been getting rotating ones from the Louvre for the past three years) I'm looking forward to going to see this one. It just opened a week ago.

I do have to say that it was a lovely day to be downtown today. I really love being in the city and I try to enjoy it every time I get the chance to walk around down there. It's also nice to see "city stuff"- the tall buildings, crosswalks, subway, folks on the sidewalks, signs, etc.... That's what I was thinking about when I was sitting in my car waiting for the light to change (so I could get onto the highway) as I looked up and saw this sign. Then I snapped out of it in time to remember to take a picture of it for the blog! I would have saved the theme tomorrow, but since it's going to be Thanksgiving, I figured I'd go ahead and do it today!

Day 53 of 365: Atlanta at night

I took this one tonight as I was on my way to the Thrashers-Sabres hockey game (we won 3-2 in a shoot out by the way!!) The Marta was taking way too long just so I could go one more stop. I figured I could walk it quicker than I could get there by continuing to wait. I'm glad I did. It was a nice evening and I enjoy walking around in the city. Couldn't take too many shots of this (I was already late to the game and also I didn't want to attract too much attention lest I started getting harassed by the panhandlers around there), but I like the lights glowing in this shot. The Coke sign is cool, too, since Atlanta is the home of Coca Cola of course.

Oh, and I was being silly and figured I could imagine I was in London by walking on the left side of the pavement. I'm such a dork, but it made me laugh!
